The moment you pull on a piece of Arc'teryx clothing you can feel the difference. This alone makes Arc'teryx products stand out but there is so much more to say about the brand.

Arc'teryx: use activity-specific patterning,  aid in the development of the highest performing and most durable materials, have their own domestic manufacturing facility which allows the development of superior features. This ensures that Arc'teryx sit at the fore-front of outdoor equipment development.

Where Arc'teryx lead others attempt to follow.

The product on which we have chosen to hang our range is the Arc'teryx Beta AR Jacket and Women's Beta AR Jacket, this is Arc'teryxes most popular jacket as it is a true all-rounder. Designed for walking, backpacking and suitable for mountaineering this jacket is light (500g) and packable but is constructed from extremely durable and breathable 3 layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell. But how does an Arc'teryx Gore-Tex Pro Shell jacket differ from the rest of the field. The face fabric is where it all begins, no compromise is made here, absolutely the best face fabric available for the desired activity is used. The next is the pattern; ergonomics and fit rule here, but equally important is minimizing seams. Seam tape doesn't breath so you need to minimize it especially in high sweat areas such as arm pits, Arc'teryx use large panels of material combined with narrow 13mm Gore seam-tape to keep breathability at a maximum. Micro stitching and thorough glueing of 1.6mm allowance seams keeps weight and bulk low whilst increasing strength and life of the garment. The other key feature of any jacket is the zip, Arc'teryx use a WaterTight™ Vislon zip for highly water-resistant, highly durable, yet low profile protection. Finally comes all the features such as the easy to adjust one handed with mitts on, laminate peaked hood that will comfortably accept a helmet. Similarly attention to detail is shown to the pockets, cuffs and all other areas of the product. All in all an awesome piece.

Sticking with technical product we need to point out the similar levels of microscopic detailing in the Atom LT Hoody and Womens Atom LT Hoody. This synthetic fill jacket is ideal for all activities and year round use and has an amazing fit and snug comfort to it as soon as you put it on. The Coreloft fill unlike other synthetic fills uses fibres of different thicknesses, which helps wicking and means that it springs up to full loft very quickly and resists compression well. So the Atom LT Hoody is ideal as a layering piece as clothing worn over it won’t collapse the fill thus keeping you warmer.

For your legs, check out the Arc'teryx Gamma AR Pant, our chosen replacement to the popular and classic Mammut Base-Jump soft-shell trouser. Or we have a ladies and gents lighter weight stretch trekking trouser in the shape of the Rampart Pant and the Womens Pallisade Pant.

But Arc'teryx are not all about superb technical product they also produce lovely more general wear products that incorporate the benefits of their technical manufacturing skills and top quality materials. Everyone at Up and Under loves the instant comfort and hug that the Covert Hoody and Womens Covert Hoody gives. The fabric is Polartec Thermal Pro with an attractive knit outer face and the  finishing and detailing is pure Arc'teryx.

And finally we stock 3 different models of quality cotton T-shirts and 2 models of beanies all with the Arc'teryx logo on them.
