Ultimate Direction

Ultimate Direction are revolutionary innovators in the world of outdoor and running hydration. In 1985 they literally invented hydration packs by manufacturing the first waist pack designed to carry bottles. Following on from that success they created the first pack/strap to carry a water bottle in your hand.

Today - following on through numerous other firsts Ultimate Direction remain at the forefront of innovation with hydration or ultra vests for carrying water and other kit. These comfy, no-bounce vests provide quick, easy access to water-bottles in the front and are becoming favoured by runners, walkers and climbers as ideal ways to move fast, light and in un-restricted comfort.

These innovations have been helped by the fact that Ultimate Direction products are designed by athletes for athletes. Their design team includes world reknowned ultra runners Scott Jurek, Anton Krupicka and Peter Bakwin amongst others, whose rigorous demands and testing have resulted in perfectly designed and use-able products and features across the range.

Most recently the Ultimate Direction women's collection has been designed by women for women. The Ultra Vesta is the very first women's-specific hydration pack and is designed by Jenny Jurek and uses select new technical fabrics, superbly comfortable and functional design with an attractive look.

Due into the U.K. this October (2014) is the first day hiking, lightweight backpacking and mountain marathon vest-pack - the Fastpack 20. This has the advantages of the running vest design (weight carried on your skeleton, nothing sitting on delicate organs that can cause discomfort, seriously figure hugging and stable) in a rucksack capacity of at least 20 litres (we reckon it's nearly like 30 with the outer stretch mesh pocket maxed out) and is sure to become a classic and a favourite for years to come.
