Doug Scott Signed Prints Raffle in aid of South Wales Rescue Teams

Doug Scott Signed Prints Raffle

Up and Under recently attended the Kendal Mountain Film Festival highlights event at the New Theatre in Cardiff where we contributed significantly in aid of relief work after the Nepal earthquake through the International Porter Protection Group (http://www.ippg.net/). Our contribution secured for us 2 mounted and framed photos; one of K2 from Broad Peak (signed by Doug Scott, Chris Bonington, Tony Streather, Naoe Sakashita, Nazir Sabir, Jim Wickwire and others) the other of Kangchenjunga West Side (signed by Kanchecnjunga first ascensionists Joe Brown, George Band and Tony Streather and first oxygen-less ascensionist Doug Scott).

We decided that rather than just having the prints on display in the shop we would like to take this opportunity to try to turn them into something useful for the rescue teams of South Wales. Mountain and Cave Rescue Teams provide such an important role all voluntarily and are reliant on donations from the outdoor publics such as ourselves and yourselves to stay in existence.

We have therefore decided to raffle the two mounted, framed and signed prints and split the proceeds between South & Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team, Brecon, Longtown. Central Beacons and Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Teams.

To enhance the attraction of the raffle Edelrid, Jottnar, Lowe Alpine, Lyon Equipment, Rab and Terra Nova have kindly donated a number of prizes as well, so not only can you help support the rescue teams, possibly win a very rare and stunning print signed by some of the most important mountaineers of all time you also stand the chance of winning some great outdoor kit too.

You can come and view the prints in store and you can purchase raffle tickets from Up and Under, 490 Cowrbidge Road East, Cardiff, CF5 1BL (02920 578579) and from each of the 5 Rescue Teams.

We urge you to get involved with this great cause and opportunity and hope you will mention it to like minded friends and family.

Hi, Just wondering whether this raffle is still running?

Thanks,
Claire
