Initial review of the Raidlight Compress Seamless Calf Guards, using them for two short road runs. The results so far are pleasing, with better performance and recovery.

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.

#Teamupandunder Member Mark Aston took part in the latest recce for the South Wales 100, the first quarter of the course that leaves from Cardiff. He gives us a runners view, and what you'll expect if you've entered into this fantastic race, which will also give you UTMB points.

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.

Time for some outdoor fun with our Women's Softshell sale! Heather explains why we use softshells, and why one should be part of your outdoor wardrobe.

#Team Up and Under member Mark Aston gives a review of the the Might Contain Nuts (MCN) December ultra race, held in the Brecon Beacons. A circular loop of well known summits such as Tor y Foel and Pen y Fan, the Ultra course also takes you over Mynydd Llangynidr, past Dolygaer and Storey Arms, giving stunning views along the way - if you're lucky enough to be in condition to take the sights in.

This December didn't see us out and about quite so much. It's our busiest time of the year, so it all hands to the deck and with most Annual Leave used up by now. However, we all still managed to fit something in, and the Christmas period gives us all a few days off where the shop is closed, meaning traditional Boxing Day / New Years Eve/Day walks/swims/runs/paddles are all fitted in.

South Wales Sport Climbs - Rockfax climbing guidebook is out now and available in store and online.

Our staff members are always out and about, making the most of their time off to go and have fun, using and testing the kit we sell. We're going to try and let you know what we get up to, with regular monthly updates.
