The Tikka is one of the CLASSIC range of Petzl headtorches which uses Standard Lighting Technology (see below).

Our verdict
Ideal as a general purpose family torch - it can be used by children as it is very simple to use with only 2 beam options. Suited to camping trips, DIY and repair projects around the house. This torch has an excellent burn time but does not have the beam strength required for more intensive use in the dark (e.g. hiking, trail running).

The beam strength of the Petzl Tikka is stronger than that of the Tikkina. It also has the additional glow-in-the-dark highlights making it easy to find in the dark.

Standard Lighting Technology
- The headlamp supplies energy directly to the light source. Great compromise between power and burn time.
- The headlamp has a very long burn time.
- The headlamp lights very intensely for the first minutes, and then decreases gradually over time.
- The rated brightness is the maximum light output, measured when the lamp is first turned on.
