Ice Climbing Harness

The Arcteryx I340a harness is very light (345g), very supple and small packing, yet highly supportive, due to it's clever, anatomical, hand-made construction. It is fully adjustable on body and legs to cope with any clothing scenario you need from skinny lycra to synthetic filled pants and belay parka.

Wider Warp Strength Technology™ swami (waist band and leg loops) than other Arcteryx harnesses gives extra support and comfort for long days walking/skiing in with your harness on followed by time spent on your winter ascent and the descent afterwards. The tie-in point is beefed up as well and the adjustable (drop seat) leg loops are patterned with an anatomical conical shape for superb comfort while hanging. As well as the four moulded (removable) gear loops and rear tape haul/gear loop there are an immense fourteen slots for ice screw clippers.

Arcteryx harness sizing guide: Your waist circumference is the essential measurement needed to properly size a sit harness. Slightly tight or loose leg loops will not affect or reduce the safety of the harness, but may compromise comfort so we prefer to fit harnesses wherever possible( and remember harnesses are P.P.E. and are not returnable). The following is Arcteryxes size guide and will be effected by the type of clothing worn during measurement. Remember harnesses fit differently on different individuals even when measurements are the same sizes and are based on actual body dimensions.

Harness care

Take care to keep your harness away from sharp objects, ice screws, crampons, etc. from corrosive substances (battery acids, gasoline, automobile motor fluids, solvents, bleach, etc.). Store the harness in a dry, dark place. If the harness becomes wet, air dry it before storing. Hand wash in warm water with a mild soap (never use bleach) and air dry away from direct sunlight. Never make any modification to the harness.
