Auto locking belay karabiner

The Edelrid HMS Strike Slider FG is a fantastic belay karabiner that provides solutions to the problems that climbers have with their belaying krabs.

The use of i-beam or H-profile construction creates a lightweight HMS or Pear shaped biner which is designed to work perfectly with the assisted breaking Edelrid Jul, Mega Jul and Micro Jul belay devices but will work equally well with any other belay device.

The FG spring bar holds the belay loop of your harness in the base of the karabiner thus stopping karabiner rotation and potential loading across the gate or other less than ideal positions.

The Slider mechanism is easy to activate when putting your rope through the karabiner opening and the clean nose stops any potential snagging. The slider mechanism then automatically locks the gate, removing the potential to forget screwing up the gate as can happen with standard locking karabiners.

We particularly like the Edelrid HMS Strike Slider FG for use with cowstails as the cowstail is always retained at the base of the karabiner and the gate opening is easy with one hand whilst the locking is automatic. These "added safety" features make the Edelrid Strike Slider FG very popular with outdoor centres and climbing walls as well as sport and trad climbers.
