Hooked pegs or pitons for marginal placements

The Black Diamond Pecker is designed to be used where knifeblade pitons won’t fit or where the placement is more feeble. Due to the design of the peg the force is pulled downwards meaning that the pecker has to be pulled right through the crack for it to fail. Absolutely essential for big wall climbing and aid climbing. The pecker in the bigger two sizes are also really useful in Scottish winter climbing as they can be used like knifeblades in cracks but can also be hammered into ice or frozen turf to give marginal protection when nothing else will work.
