 Low volume performance lace-up

Tenaya Masai
is a flat performance shoe that is very similar to the Five-Ten Anasazi Pink but with less volume over the toes and a choice of red and black laces.

Tenaya are a Spanish based rock shoe company who have a large European following, with there amazing design and utilizing the best rubber around they are the current shoe of choice for former world climbing champion Ramon Julian and a favourite of 9a onsight superstar Alex Megos (see image).

Tenaya Masai - Alex Megos

Currently the closest shoe that mimics the world famed Five Ten Anasazi Lace, the Masai has a stiff edge and soft midsole and a tight heel rand. This means that it will give good precision on micro edges yet is still supple enough that it will flex to give good hold on smears.

The Masai use a microfiber material on the outer and a TXT treated cotton on the inner thus giving comfort on the foot but will not stretch to much over time. The rubber used is Vibram XS grip (the same stuff La Sportiva use) so you can be sure of friction in your foot placement.

  • Lining: TXT treated cotton
  • Insole: TST multi-layer stretch tex
  • Midsole: 2D PLT 10
  • Outsole: Vibram XS Grip 4mm

Rob Smith - Offa's Dyke In One Sitting - A new unsupported FKT

I set out from the official start (or end) of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail in Prestatyn with the intention of running (jogging, hiking and a lot of hobbling) – the 177 miles to the other end of the trail at Sedbury Cliffs, just outside Chepstow. I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
