The Evolv Pontas Lace Up is a comfortable yet highly technical climbing shoe from the Sharma Signature Series. Chris Sharma, one of the strongest, most well acclaimed climbers in the world, helped design this shoe – they must be awesome then!
 
The Pontas Lace-up is designed with a full mid sole and extra half mid sole for added support and stiffness. This gives them a lot of versatility as they give excellent precision edging on steep climbs but can also be used as a stiff technical trad climbing shoe for standing on micro holds.
 
As with all Evolv shoes, construction is superb and the rubber is ultra-sticky. The Pontas uses TRAX XT-5 rubber that glues your feet to desperate smears on anything from technical slabs to tough, overhanging sport climbs.
 
With the speed lacing system, the Pontas is super easy to get on and off. Their lined synthetic upper is stretch resistant but is surprisingly soft and supple providing minimal break-in time, so you can start working your projects immediately… you can’t deny that the colour is cool too.
