Stiff edging perfomance rock shoe

The Five Ten Verdon Lace is highly asymmetric and stiff making it an absolute beast for edging on slate, quarried sandstone and natural limestone, get it out for Gower and South Pembroke. With a quite pointed profile without being narrow it works well in pockets as you would expect from a shoe named Verdon. Whilst you might not expect it the level of comfort out of the box is pretty good given that this is a performance shoe. Whilst not having much of any downturn the Verdon does suit people used to down turned shoes that want something to complement their softer bouldering / indoor shoes and get something for hard trad or matchstick edges. The molded thermoplastic midsole complimented by a molded piece of EVA fills in the dead space of the natural curves of the foot supporting your bone and muscle structure, and a lace closure assists with locking the foot into place. The perforated tongue as well as the leather upper lined with Clarino offers good levels of comfort. Tried and true Stealth C4 allows you to stick to barely-there edges, lock into smears on microscopic nubbins and cruise up technical terrain with unparalleled confidence in your feet.

  • Stealth® C4™ rubber outsole (4mm)
  • Lined leather upper – Up to a half-size stretch
  • Lace closure system
  • Asymmetric toe box
  • Molded thermoplastic midsole with EVA fill
  • Stiff

Rob Smith - Offa's Dyke In One Sitting - A new unsupported FKT

I set out from the official start (or end) of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail in Prestatyn with the intention of running (jogging, hiking and a lot of hobbling) – the 177 miles to the other end of the trail at Sedbury Cliffs, just outside Chepstow. I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
