The Beal Top Gun II 10.5mm Unicore is an exceptional performer in the half rope category, perfect for any rock climber (including trad). A record number of falls have been recorded for its diameter, meaning it is relatively durable, this coupled with a low impact force makes it a very impressive design.

Unicore technology joins the rope core to the sheath without affecting handling or flexibility. The eliminates sheath slippage even in poor coniditions. If the sheath becomes torn or cut, the core and sheath will remain bonded so that the climber can pass the damaged section and doesn't become stuck. The rope is also simpler to cut, using only a blade, no heating it up!

I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
