Warm and Lightweight Vest

Perfect for stowing away and pulling out when you stop moving, or when you need full dexterity in your arms, the Patagonia Women's Down Sweater Vest is designed to keep you warm on a windy day. The 800-fill power goose down means warmth at a low weight and a small pack size, neatly tucking into its interior pocket to save you carrying an extra bag around for it. Nylon-bound elastic will help to hold the vest around the shoulders, and the hem can also be cinched in, so the warmth doesn't escape. The face fabric helps keep the water off, being treated with a DWR, but this is by no means designed to withstand the rain- it will, however, buy time to get the jacket stowed away or get a waterproof over the top if you do get caught out by the weather.

That's what makes the vest good, but what makes it great are Patagonia's dedication to fair, environmental wear. The ripstop polyester that makes up the face fabric of the jacket, is 100% recycled. The down, never from live-plucked or force-fed geese, is traceable, with the Advanced Global Traceable Down Standard ensuring that the birds involved have a good quality of life. The factories used in the production are Fair Trade certified, meaning that everybody involved gets their fair share.

If you're not sure about size, the best thing to do, if you're able, is to come into our store and try it on, where we will be happy to discuss the pros and cons of all of our gear. And remember, if you're putting your down kit away for longer periods of time, it is best to store them lofted, rather than tucked away in their storage pockets.

Rob Smith - Offa's Dyke In One Sitting - A new unsupported FKT

I set out from the official start (or end) of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail in Prestatyn with the intention of running (jogging, hiking and a lot of hobbling) – the 177 miles to the other end of the trail at Sedbury Cliffs, just outside Chepstow. I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
