Warm Expedition Mitts.

For Greater Ranges expeditions, these altitude-oriented mitts provide warmth whilst keeping weight and bulk low and are ideal for 8000m peaks and polar use. The Alitmitt is an excellent Everest glove. They comprise an outer and a liner mitt for maximum versatility.

The outer fabric is a fully taped lightweight ripstop GORE-TEX® making the glove waterproof. Pittards® Armortan®  leather palms enable you to grip your gear in all conditions and increases durability where you need it. The outer mitt is lined with thick pile fleece on the palms and 170 g PrimaLoft® One synthetic insulation on the back of the hand and thumb.

The removable liner is made from the same pile fleece on the palm and 340g PrimaLoft® One synthetic insulation on the back of the hand. The fleece is used in areas where crushing will occur, i.e. holding an ice axe or trekking pole, as it still provides warmth when crushed and it doesn't twist around thus giving a secure grip. The synthetic insulation on the rear of the mitts has a better warmth for weight than the fleece and compresses better when its in your pack so is used in areas that won't get crushed during use.

The actual shaping of the mitt provides maximum dexterity for such a warm product by use of a pre-curved box construction combined with a 3 panel thumb.

  • Pre-curve, boxed construction
  • 3-panel thumb
  • DuoCinch™ gauntlet closure
  • Removable Idiot Cord
  • Removable Liner:
  • 340 g / 10oz. PrimaLoft® One on back of hand and thumb; Moonlite Pile fleece palm
  • Friction tabs keep liner from slipping or bunching
  • Lightweight ripstop shell
  • Velcro style anchor points at top and bottom of wrist
  • Velcro style tab adjustment on gauntlet

Pembrokeshire Coastal Ultra Races

Up and Under are proud to be involved with the 3 Pembrokeshire Coastal Ultra Races in May 2018. Run Britains only Coastal National Trail the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path as a 180m 5 day race. Alternatively run a 100 mile section either in one go or as a 3 day event. Long cut off times mean these events suit runners and long distance walkers alike and are super friendly and serious fun.
