Synthetic Gilet

Comfortably fitting vest, that's flattering, warm and water resistant - perfect for 'sweaty bettys' that need to keep warm

The vest packs down small as Cirrus is highly compressible, and quite light weight making it great for stuffing in a bag when you're on the go.

Packs into its own pocke
t, with a nifty little loop to clip onto your harness or bag. Has a really comfortable shoulder cuff and a comfy collar. This jacket has two hand pockets and an internal stash pocket.

The outer shell is made of Pertex Quantum, which gives it a water resistant finish, combined with the water-repelling properties of the Cirrus insulation it can take a light shower and still keep you warm!! BUT....it also dries really quickly unlike down, as it doesn't have anything that absorbs the water, again keeping you warm and toasty in the "Good old British weather".

The easy care of this garment also "Top Trumps" down as you can just chuck it in the was with a bit of technical detergent, and let it dry!! Nice and easy!!! We do however recommend that every now and again you chuck it in the tumble dryer on a low heat, to reactivate the DWR coating.

What is Cirrus?

Cirrus is synthetic down made from 3M Featherless Insulation this is equivalent to approx 600 US Fill Power of down. So it still has a good weight to warmth ratio...not quite as good as down, but you do have the weather resistant properties that down doesn't.

Cirrus is in fact looks like really technical fluffy cotton wool. By having lots of fluffy bits around it to trap air like feathers do, this enables the insulation to trap the air and warm it through your body heat, just like down. It's not quite as fluffy as down and isn't as light as down, but it is a massive step in technology to get the ultimate British insulated jacket!
