Patagonia Men's DAS Parka is the belay parka to have. Using 133g of Primaloft Gold Insulation Eco fused wih aerogel technology, with overlays of 40g more at core places you'll be toasty as on your belays and bivies.
High levels of water-resistancy, insulation, compressability and use of recyceled fabrics means that this is the jacket to throw on at cold belays on gnarly winter routes. It doesn't matter if your clothes are rimed up or damp as the lining has a DWR as well, so you don't loose your warmth when you stop thrashing through the spindrfift.
Whilst durable the jacket feels soft and cosy - cwtchy - turning an unexpected bivvy into a night to remember.

  • 556g
  • Ultralight 0.8oz 10-denier nylon ripstop Pertex® Quantum Pro face fabric has a water-resistant PU dry coating and DWR for improved weather protection.
  • 133g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco (75% postconsumer recycled content) fused with aerogel technology provides exceptional warmth and softness in a synthetic insulation. 40g 100% polyester (35% postconsumer recycled content) with Cross Core™ technology at the core places where additional warmth is needed most.
  • 0.7-oz 10-denier 100% nylon ripstop Pertex® Quantum lining with a DWR finish to slide on over a damp shell.
  • Elasticized stitch on lining at side panels pulls jacket in toward the body.
  • Alpine helmet–compatible, single-point-adjustable hood with elasticized binding at hood opening offers custom fit for optimal warmth and protection.
  • External left-chest pocket and handwarmer pockets are outfitted with zipper garages.
  • Elasticized, low-profile cuffs sit softly on the arms and easily push up and out of the way; internal elastic cuffs double as optional thumb loops to pull sleeves down over hands for additional warmth; Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

  • Two internal, elasticized mesh drop-in pockets; stuff sack included.

Rob Smith - Offa's Dyke In One Sitting - A new unsupported FKT

I set out from the official start (or end) of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail in Prestatyn with the intention of running (jogging, hiking and a lot of hobbling) – the 177 miles to the other end of the trail at Sedbury Cliffs, just outside Chepstow. I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
