Midweight Softshell pants

The Marmot Women's Highland Pants are an amazing investment for any outdoor enthusiast. With their Mid-Weight Stretch Performance Double Weave Woven Fabric, they are perfect as a multi-sport trouser from Canoeing to high end alpine use. They most definitely deserve a place in your outdoor wardrobe.

They have integral UV protection (UPF 50), high wear reinforced areas on the bum, knees and hem and amazing ability to stretch... all this and that is just the start of the story with these beautiful trousers.

The cut of these trousers are sublime in how they are articulated with added stretch panels and gusset for your climbing or mountaineering movements. The waist is also beautifully designed to fit a ladies hips and waist with a good amount of stretch to allow for layers...or a good pub lunch at the end of the day, and an integrated draw cord for any extra fitting tweaks. There is a DriClime® band on the waist which is for extra softness and quick wicking, making the sweaty waist band a thing of the past.

These are slightly higher waisted than some trousers as they are not a 'hippster' cut but a full pant. But I believe this makes them more inviting for when your having to bend down, do a crux move on the crag or even ideal for tucking your baselayers into.

Pockets -
There are two pockets at the waist which are not zipped but the two cargo style pockets are zipped. The cargo pockets are stream line style pockets, so no unnecessary flapping fabric on your thighs, but they are also styled in such a way that the pockets are in fact flattering. On the back there is a small zipped pocket on the right cheek with enough room for a wallet or small phone.

Hem - The hem has reinforcement on the inside, like a small scuff patch, but there is also a synch cord, which ideal for climbing, walking in the wind or when popping over-trousers on. They are cut at a 32 inch leg but the synch cords do make them easier to shorten if required without excess scrunching of the bottom.

Fabric - The fabric is Marmot's M3 softshell fabric which means it is a nylon mix supper durable trouser, that is quick wicking, quick drying but also very wind resistant which keeps you warm. The surprising thing about this fabric is the lightness of weight to durability, especially for its price tag. Not only that but also the softness of the fabric, so you don't feel like your having your legs lightly ex-foliated, like some comparable brands.

Durable Water-Resistant Finish (DWR) which is a final coating put on waterproofs, this doesn't make it waterproof but highly water resistant, again adding to your warmth.

These trousers are a great multi-sport trouser that come highly recommended from all the ladies in store.
