Men's Alpine Jacket

The Patagonia Men's Galvanized Jacket offers the perfect balance between weight, durability, freedom of movement and weather protection. The outer shell has a soft and supple yet robust 3-layer H2No™ polyester/spandex stretch-woven fabric, with DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The outer fabric feels a lot like a softshell and has a jersey-knit backer that wicks moisture and maintains an amazing level of internal comfort. Its engineered pattern also eliminates all seaming across the shoulders and back, resulting in zero abrasion points and unprecedented stretch. All of these aspects make it feel very snug and also silent during movement, good for all those who despise sounding like a rustling crisp packet whilst on the go!

The Optimal Visibility Hood works with any helmet and adjusts with a very simple Cohaesive® embedded cord-lock system; this can be operated easily with one hand even whilst wearing thick gloves. The handwarmer pockets are highly placed above the harness-line and have close watertight zippers, as does the exterior chest pocket. A minimal hook-and-loop closure secures the cuffs, while polyurethane inner cuffs further eliminate gaps and maintain a seal. The hem cord locks adjust super easily with one hand and loosen very easily as well. It is essentially a big button signposted with target-esque graphics which you can squeeze even with thick gloves on. The centre-front zip has an interior storm flap and non-chafing zipper garage. It's a perfect fit for the slim long armed Alpinist. It's a stunning jacket and well worth popping in to try on!

Now for the eco bit - except for the special offer Balkan Blue large and extra large the Galvanized Jacket is made from 88% recycled polyester and is Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

Rob Smith - Offa's Dyke In One Sitting - A new unsupported FKT

I set out from the official start (or end) of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail in Prestatyn with the intention of running (jogging, hiking and a lot of hobbling) – the 177 miles to the other end of the trail at Sedbury Cliffs, just outside Chepstow. I did finally get there, just over 3 days later, setting what is, for now, a fastest known time for a self-supported completion of the trail.
