Fitted Waterproof Jacket

Such a beautiful jacket, with some epic features for its price point. The fabric is really quite a soft feeling fabric for a multi-season jacket, giving you less of a russle when you move around. The fitted shape is elegant but not too fitted to put a layer or two underneath.

The dipped back hem is ideal for biking, climbing and all around lower back comfort. The cuffs are also supperbly done to feel soft yet still really practical and effective.

Technology moves so fast in the world of outdoor science, there are no pit zips in this jacket as they class this jacket as being so breathable it doesn't need it. It also creates a much neater cut giving you a bit more movement and breathability.

A double baffle is quite an unusal feature on a coat these days, but a great idea with this style of zip, keeping even scottish heavy down pours at bay.

Helmet compatible hood is a must have feature on a multiactivity jacket
. The synches are perfectly placed so you don't get that annoying flapping when you don't have a helmet under the hood. The hood band over the forehead is also really comfy and created in such a way that it stays put when the wind blows a hoolie!

If you are a person that likes to keep a clean line when your out and about, there are synch tides under the hem. So, no more snaggy bits when your climbing in the wind!

A-line harness compatible pockets
are a great feature when your at the crag or with a walking pack on. great feature to keep your gloves and nibbles handy.

So what is Pertex Shield+

This jacket is made from 3 layer pertex shield+ with a hydrostatic head of 20,000mm. Created with a PU (Polyurethane) membrane which is classed as a 'solid state membrane'. This means there is no airflow through the membrane itself, therefore it has to transmit moisture not via air exchange but by moving water vapour molecules physically through the fabric itself.

An interesting fact is that Pertex Shield+ is a hydrophillic membrane, which means it attracts water molecules to the membrane itself in order to push them through the fabric. Fastinating!!
