Lightweight, comfortable, well ventilated, durable and with a good sole unit. These are the requirements of many people who want footwear for travelling and use in hot arid environments and uses in Britain such as fast crag approach on clement days. To suit the needs of such customers we have selected a variety of shoes. We have a range of waterproof shoes also.

(Please note: Trail and mountain running shoes can be found in the Fell Running section and there are paddling and kayaking shoes in the Canoeing Clothing section and beach shoes in the Watersports department.)

In our non-waterproof range, for easy trail and hillwalking use, the Meindl Magic 2.0 (shown left) or the Salomon Exit Peak or Salomon Elios 2Women are ideal. They are all lightweight yet rugged, offering good levels of support and durability.

For approach to crags, scrambles and easy rock climbs the Evolv Exies (for men) or Boreal Flyers lady (shown right) are worth considering as they fulfill all the above criteria but have a sole with rubber and moulding particularly designed from a climbers point of view.

Lightweight and well ventilated and therefore cool but with high ankles to improve protection is important for warm climate travel and trekking and the Scarpa Hydrogen for men and women really fits the bill. They are in no way waterproof, but ideal for dry or desert conditions.

In our waterproof range , we have the well-proven Scarpa Enigma XCR for a beefy robust option (as shown left), or Salomon Elios 2 GTX for men and for ladies the Salomon Exit GTX and Salomon Tiana GTX which is a very light option (and is shown right).

The Keen Targhee II comes in three options- a low or mid ankle for men and a mid ankle for women. It has a broad, comfortable and well protected toe. All of these use a Keen Dry membrane to keep your feet dry. They are ideal for easy walks, and walking the dog and around town on wet days. The mid ankle versions give a bit more support for coastal paths and rougher terrain.

The Meindl Maine Mid GTX is a waterproof option aimed at lightweight trekking and travel also, and again we have models for ladies and gents.
