Wide fitting 3-4 season hill walking boot

The Meindl Meran GTX is a sturdy hill walking boot  from the Meindl Comfort Fit range which means that it has a generous width in the forefoot area and is therefore worth considering if you have a wide foot. The Meran is 4mm wider in the forefoot than say the Meindl Borneo.

It has as a medium flex and good lateral support to deal with hill and easy mountain terrain. If the generous forefoot width is of interest but the firm flex performance typical of a Borneo is preferred for more demanding mountain terrain then the Bernina 2 could be considered.

The Meran is a boot that comes with Meindl's usual excellent build quality and materials. It has a waxed nubuck leather upper backed with a Gortex membrane for waterproofness, a cork and fleece footbed for comfort and a durable sole with an EVA wedge for cushioning.

  • Wide fitting design, part of Meindl's Comfort Fit range
  • Goretex membrane for waterproofness
  • Waxed nubuck leather upper
  • EVA wedge for cushioning
  • Cork and fleece footbed
