If you're buying hiking boots, you should really give these a try! The Salewa Ws MTN Trainer Mid GTX is perfect for via ferrata, hiking, and trekking. Striking a balance between a lightweight boot whilst still being sturdy and stiff enough to support your feet and perform well on technical terrain.

Featuring a Gore-tex lining to ensure they are fully waterproof, yet breathable. The full rubber rand and durable nubuck uppers protect the boot and your feet when the trail becomes tough. The Vibram sole provides excellent grip on rock, grass, and mud.

The lacing system goes from the end of your toes to your ankles so you can adjust the fit to exactly what you want. Salewa’s 3F system helps keep your heel snugly in the back of the boot, cupping it to ensure there is no movement which means- a blister free hike!

Salewa also provide each set of boots with two different footbeds. One takes a little volume from the heel whilst allowing generous toe wriggle room. The other takes some volume out of the front as well - very handy if you’re going to do more of a technical scramble/via feratta day.

Add in the fact this boot has been designed with a women's specific fit and you'll find they can provide an incredibly accurate fit.

"3 season"/rugged terrain use

Salewa Ws MTN Trainer Mid GTX staff review:

I was looking for a decent set of hiking boots for spending three weeks out in the Austrian mountains last summer. I tried these boots on and knew they were the ones- they hugged my feet perfectly. I’ve got fairly narrow ankles but quite a wide toe spread and after a little wearing they spot on.

They were lived in non-stop in hot weather and never felt too hot or uncomfortable.

I found they gave real confidence when scrambling up and down rock- the sharp edge on the ‘climbing zone’ and the stiffness of the sole worked great on ting edges.

Since, they’ve done well in soggy Yorkshire with the lugs keeping me on my feet in saturated fields, and nice and dry to boot.
