Active Synthetic Insulation

The Patagonia W's Nano-Air Light Hybrid Jacket takes features from the one of Patagonia's iconic pieces - the Nano-Air and its  FullRange Insulation - and combines them with a wicking waffle knit for breathable performance during cool weather high exertion activity.

The 40-g FullRange insulation covers the arms, and front of body, and will keep some wind and moisture off, while still breathing well sitting at 40 on the CFM scale. It's super packable, lightweight, and has a little stretch to it, but its still durable, being constructed from 100% ripstop Nylon. The remainder of the jacket - under arms, sides and back - is constructed from a super stretchy, airy waffle knit, constructed from 100% polyester with Polygiene, which allows for great heat dissipation, odour control and super wicking performance.

This design means that you will get great on the go weather protection up-front and less sweaty in the areas that this happens to the most, i.e. under-arms and between your back and your pack. The waffle knit swiftly wicks moisture and hugs you so that it is super comfy, unrestrictive and layers well. The stretch knit cuffs feature thumb-holes to so that you can cover the backs of your hands when striding into the wind, whilst the low-profile zippered hand pockets for great for a bit of warmth when you stop, by are low profile enough to layer under a harness or rucksack waist-belt.

  • Light yet durable 100% nylon ripstop shell and plain-weave lining offer generous mechanical stretch and exceptional breathability, with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Revolutionary 40-g FullRange® insulation warms and stretches; combined with the shell and lining, this creates excellent mechanical stretch and unprecedented air permeability (40CFM on front; 130CFM on back)
  • Airy, wicking waffle knit on the backs of arms and side and back panels manages excess heat and moisture
  • Articulated patterning and subtle quilting improve shape and aesthetic
  • Two handwarmer pockets are zippered, welted and low-bulk to wear comfortably with a harness or pack
  • Sleek, low-bulk, snag-resistant cuffs use stretch knit with discreet thumb holes to provide versatile coverage and comfort
  • Minimal, center-front zipper with low-profile zipper garage; stretch binding at hem to seal in warmth
