Climbing and mountaineering rucksack

Tested by Mountain Guides in the French Alps and the rucksack of choice for the Chamonix Guides Company the Millet Prolighter 30 is all that you could ask for from a proper reliable mountaineering pack.

The Millet Prolighter 30 uses more burly fabrics than the Prolighter 25 and with good reason. The chances are you'll be carrying more iron mongery around including sharps like crampons and ice screws. Even so at 1kg it's no heavy weight and the super rugged base and front crampon patch will keep it going for years to come.

We are big fans of simple climbing rucksack designs and the Prolighter 30 fits into this ethos well. The features to talk about are not bells and whistels but key integral components such as 1000 Denier nylon fabric, the fact that the shoulder straps wrap around rather than just attaching to the top of the rucksack and have adjustment to get the perfect carry. The frame is flexible and light so the pack doesn't sit high and interfere with your helmet and head movement. The slim mesh lined waist belt has gear loops and is designed on a climbing harness to wrap the body and transfer load well. The back system and shoulder straps don't use mesh for increased durability when hauling (the pack features 3 haul points), but are still comfortable and wicking. Other features include an under the lid rope/compression strap, twin axe carrying, internal and external lid pockets and not a lot else.

Comfort, carry and ease of use in a clean, cool package - thats the Prolighter 30!
