Ghyll Scrambling Shoes or Shoes for Gorge Scrambling

The Bestard Canyon Guide lady is a high specification water shoe. It has been designed for Canyoneering, but they are also great shoes for Coasteering and Ghyll scrambling

Bestard has designed these Canyoneering shoes to feature a Vibram sole unit. Bestard have worked closely with Vibram to get the right balance of texture, sole shape and style to work to the highest possible levels while in the water. The canyon guide has also been designed around a last that will offer the correct fit for the sport of canyoneering and this then makes it suitable for other Watersports. There is lots of volume which allows for wearing a pair of 3-5mm neoprene socks and even the latex or fabric socks that would be found on a dry suit. The boots are then secured with a simple but effective lacing system, once laced they also have a small pocket on the top to tuck the lace away. The upper of the boot is made from a tough and durable Cordura; this then features a rubber rand where it meets the sole unit. The boot upper then incorporates 4 self-draining holes; two on each side of the boot. The top of the boot is then fitted with a debris gaiter; this helps to keep river sediment, sand and shingle entering the boot.

January Staff Newsletter

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.
