Swift Water Rescue PFD or Floatation Device

The Palm Rescue 800 is a great Swift Water Rescue PFD. This is a streamlined version of the Rescue 850, it still offers the same levels of safety but with reduced features.

Palm has designed the Rescue 800 PFD to feature a 3D cut to give the best levels of fit and performance. This is then enhanced with the addition of the crutch straps to prevent it from rising on the torso, while the Cordura construction makes it exceptionally tough and durable. The front opening system is then secured by 3 large buckles which are all single handed opening, a 4th smaller buckle secures the waist while the chest strap also offers a firm secure fit. The front of the chest also features a small pocket that's ideal for things you want close at hand. Additionally on the front there are two d rings, one each side of the central opening. These are perfect for securing a cow tail to. The rear of the PFD is clean and simple, however it does feature some Velcro paneling which is ideal for securing ID badges to. It also  includes plastic lash tabs and lots of reflective detailing. The reflective detailing really will stand out when used at night if using high powered spot lights. The extra addition of light sticks will then furthermore enhance the visibility for night time water rescue situations.

January Staff Newsletter

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.
