Kayak Throw Bag or Canoeing Throw Bag

The Whetman Tapir 18m is a new style kayak throw line that incorporates an 18m length of 25mm webbing that comes with a breaking strain of 3000N.

Steve Whetman the legendry kayaker who now runs his new brainchild WhetmanEquipment has designed the Tapir kayak throw line  to be a simple compact line that is easy to use. As its quite compact it is also easy to carry at all times, even times when you may not normally carry a throw bag. The Tapir throw line features a mesh storage bag that's light and compact, it also drys out very easily after use. The mesh bag has a webbing binding straps for reinforcement, these webbing straps also incorporate waist carry loops, making it ideal for carrying on a kayak rescue belt. Internally there is a webbing strap that is stitched to the external webbing system. The main rescue line is then attached to this using a metal o ring. This internal webbing strap also exits the bag at the case to create a webbing loop, this is great for clipping a kayaking carabiner to. Internally within the bottom of the bag, there is a small float. This is great once the bag has been deployed as it helps it float in the water. Once deployed the webbing is easy to repack, this is achieved due to the small buckle that secures the roll top closure. The internal kayak rescue line is made from an 18m length of 25mm webbing which is rated to 3000N

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.
