Wire Gate Carabiner or Swift Water Rescue

The Palm Wire Gate karabiner is an essential piece of kayak safety kit.

Palm Equipment have manufactured the wire gate carabiner from a 13mm anodized aluminium bar that then features a wire gate. The shape of the carabiner will make sure that the rope locates to the base of the crab so that it loads correctly to maintain the strength.

The advantges of a wire gate over some of the more traditional solid gates are numerous. However the main reasons are the gate will not flutter, there is a lot less to go wrong with it as its a single one piece unit and its also lighter.

  • 13mm Anodized Aluminium Bar.
  • Tested to 2200Kg
  • Shaped so the rope locates at the base of the karabiner.
  • Bent Wire Gate.
  • Wire Gate will reduce flutter.
  • Wire Gate is lighter.
  • Wire Gate has less to go wrong with it over a solid gate.
  • Gate Opening of 35mm.

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.
