Kayak Throwline or Kayaking Safety Gear

The Nookie Hornet throwline is one of the latest offerings of new gear from Nookie the Paddling Company. It is also one of their new products that is manufactured within the UK.

Nookie have developed the Hornet from years of experince of making throwbags and this latest offering really does fulfill a lot of requirements.

It incorporates an 18m rope of 8mm diamter that includes an inner core which makes it more easy to handle and if that is not enough it also features a 9Kn breaking strain. On the top of the bag there are two small handles that make it easy to hold when repacking. Then when it is fully repacked there is anti corrosive press stud, eyelet and velcro to ensure its firmly clsoed. On the back of the bag there are then two securing points that give you the option to use it in conjunction with the Palm Zambezi Belt, however Nookie do also produce their own belt system for it which is called the Nookie Utility Belt.

The bag itself is manufactured from a tough durable PU nylon while the base is made from a equally tough 500D cordura. The base of the neck of the bag has then been made from Enduro Mesh which is very well know for being exceptionally strong, durable and very flexible. This also means that any water in the bag can easily drain.

They are all based around a 10mm line that has a breaking strain of 1200kg so they are ideal for rescuing swimmers and also their boats. The bags all have a wide neck opening so they are easy to pack and also come supplied with a waist belt so they can be also used for sports such as rafting and coasteering.
