Kayak for Large Person or Beginners Kayak

The Dagger GT Max Club is a great beginners kayak. Its ideal for paddlers in the 85-125kg-weight range. Paddlers who are too small for the GT Max should consider the GTX Club

Dagger has designed the GT Max Club as an entry-level kayak that’s suitable for using on grade 1-2 water. It’s also perfect for using on lakes. The internal fittings are basic but are very suitable for this type of kayaking Its ideal as a kayak for teaching and developing basic skills/ It is a perfect kayak for use in canoe clubs and outdoor education centres.

The Dagger GT Max incorporates a large ergonomic seat, this is then fitted with an adjustable kayak backrest. There is a large easy access cockpit, this is then fitted with pair of well-shaped thigh braces that will help to give plenty of control. This really does make it easy when learning basic kayaking skills such as skulling for support, draw strokes and also an Eskimo Roll. Further support is made possible by the adjustable pedal footrests. The GT Max is very easy to move around as it does come fitted with large alloy grab handles that are situated on the front and rear of the kayak. In addition to the grab handles the rear of the kayak also features a drain plug. This is helpful for emptying the water in the event of a capsize.

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.

January Staff Newsletter

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.
