Touring Kayak or Recreational Kayak

The Dagger Katana C is an entry-level boat that is available in two sizes. There is the Katana 9.7 and also the 10.4. They are ideal for longer distance trips and are suitable for up to grade 2 water.

For a higher spec of the katana that features a rear hatch have a look at the Katana E.

Dagger has designed the Katana C as a basic entry level kayak that will be great for longer distance river trips and short coastal trips. This is mainly down to the drop skeg that is located on the rear of the kayak. The katana has also been packed with many other features. The boat has a large easy access cockpit and this is also incorporates a set of thigh braces for better kayak control. In the rear of the cockpit area there is also a kayak backrest for more comfort and greater levels of support. Further support is offered by the addition of the set of adjustable footrests in the front of the boat. Located just behind the rear of the cockpit there is security bar so you can lock the kayaks when leaving them outdoors. On the front deck of the kayak there is a set of elastics, these are ideal for storage and securing of a paddle maybe during a rescue. If you are unfortunate enough to capsize, there is a drain plug on the side of the kayak. This is ideal for getting all the water out when doing a rescue.

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.

January Staff Newsletter

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.
