Freestyle Kayak or Playboat

The Jed(eye) is Pyranha’s all new freestyle/playboat. It is designed to be great fun in a hole but still go huge on a wave; so whether your idea of playboating is nailing McNasties at Cardiff International White Water or throwing huge clean spin to air screw combos on Bus Eater this boat must be considered!
One of the unique design features of the Jed is the shallow ‘v’ shape at the hull at the stern. This provides the Jed with a looseness few other boats can rival and amazing edge-to-edge transition. Combined with a progressive rocker and slicey ends this makes a truly versatile boat that is both fast and loose.
The Jed comes with Pyranha’s Connect Outfitting as standard, which provides an incredibly snug and… connected fit! This allows maximum control of the boat as every little input you make is transferred to the kayak.

The Jed also comes with a bolt on overthruster, something that hasn’t been seen on a playboat for a while and whilst not giving as much volume as a Jackson Thruster,  will stop the deck compressing during a plug costing you vital litres of volume when trying to catch big air for a loop or Space Godzilla! It will also be appreciated when running big volume water such as the White Nile or Zambezi rivers where decks popping can be a worry!

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.

January Staff Newsletter

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.
