Sea Kayak Towline or Sea Kayak Safety Kit

The Whetman Equipment Sea Contact Line, a small compact sea kayak towline that is ideal for close proximity towing. It’s also great as a small fast towline for use in real emergency situations.

Whetman Equipment has designed the Sea Contact Line to have three karabiner options. The Argon Karabiner, the Mini D Karabiner and also the stainless steel karabiner. (See images below for further details)

The Sea Contact Line is made from 25mm webbing. One half of it is red and the other half of it is yellow. The red end features a small d ring and also a cam buckle; it also incorporates a sewn eyelet that contains a connector firmly. The cam buckle allows for the system to be adjusted so that it meets the required length for the situation. The yellow side of the webbing features a sewn eyelet that contains the opposing karabiner firmly. However, this end is left "clean" so that it can feed through the cam buckle. This offers the easy release facility if required.

Please watch the Whetman Equipment footage below for further info!

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.
