Entry Level Touring Kayak or River Touring Kayak

The Islander Jive is a river touring kayak that features a drop down skeg for enhanced tracking, while the large rear storage hatch and bulkhead ensure you have space to carry your lunch.

Islander kayaks
have developed the Jive kayak to have a single layer polyethylene hull. This river touring kayak comes in at just over 11 foot. It has good levels of forward speed and manoeuvrability. The forward speed and directional stability is then enhanced by the drop down skeg that is located one the rear of the kayak. Also on the rear of the craft is a large rear kayak storage hatch. Internally with in the boat there is then a bulkhead that keeps the storage area sealed off from the cockpit area. The kayak cockpit features a large comfy seat unit that is well padded, the seat also incorporates a comfy kayak backrest to give the paddler further levels of support.

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.

January Staff Newsletter

January saw us starting to get into the swing of things again. A little snow saw many of the team in the Beacons, as well as further afield with trips to the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge and Pembrokeshire all squeezed in. New Years day allowed few of us to get out (even if the weather wasn't great in South Wales) but a number were in still Snowdonia and elsewhere where it was a little nicer.
