Lightweight Sit On Top Kayak or Lightweight Kayak

The Tootega Kinetic 100 Hydrolite, a lightweight sit on top kayak that has been built to the highest possible standards. This uses the best and latest materials and technologies available. This is possibly the best sit on top kayak available, but maybe the next best is its twin - the Kinetic 100

Tootega has evolved the Kinetic 100 Hydrolite from the original Kinetic 100. The main difference is the material that they are both produced from. The Kinetic 100 uses some of the best grades of plastic available, while the Kinetic Hydrolite uses a white water grade plastic that is then cooked in a different way. The net result is that the Kinetic 100 Hydrolite weighs in at about 3 KG lighter, that's a weight saving of about 15% - A lightweight sit on top kayak!!

The Tootega Kinetic 100 Hydrolite features a great hull shape that gives great performance in the surf, it also has enough keel to make it track well on flat water. In conditions where you want enhanced tracking there is then a retractable kayak skeg. This is easily deployed form between the paddlers legs. The cockpit area of the Kinetic 100 is really well designed. There is an updated seat pan offering extra support under the thighs for greater comfort . The comfort can be then further enhanced with the addition of a padded kayak seat. In front of the main seating position is a 15cm kayak storage hatch, (ideal for storing your emergency mars bars). The kayak cockpit also features a drinks bottle holder and a set of moulded in kayak foot pegs. Additional storage is available on the Kinetic 100, this is achieved via the front hatch and also a rear tank well. The rear tankwell is then protected and secured by bungee elastics.  The reduced weight of this lighweight sit on top kayak makes it really easy to man handle on and off the water, this is then made even easier with the addition of the moulded in side carry handles.

This truly is a great sit on top kayak, but we don't tell Tootega how awesome is it!

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.
