Small Sit on Top Kayak or Ladies Sit On Top Kayak

The Tootega Pulse 85 is a 1 person sit on top kayak that's suitable for paddlers up to 90kg in weight. This is a small sit on top kayak that is well suited towards female kayakers, however its also very popular with the smaller gents to.

Tootega have designed the pulse to be a very versatile sit on top kayak and to be able to fulfill a wide range of requirements. It is perfect for having you first go at surf kayaking and it will also excel at river exploration. The Tootega design team have based the Pulse 85 around a self bailing hull design, this makes the sit on kayak very safe to paddle. If you are unfortunate enough as to capsize, you can simply turn the kayak back over and climb back on. Any water within the cockpit area of the kayak will then drain back out of the scupper holes.

The Pulse 85 is a very tough and durable sit on top kayak due to the high quality plastics that have been used. It is a quite light weight so it is easy to transport. However the moulded in front and rear kayak carry handles, make moving it around even easier. Further side carry handles make it easy to get on and off the car and also get it to the waters edge. The kayak seat is moulded in and this gives reasonable back support, however you can also add a padded kayak backrest  for extra support and comfort. Further support and comfort  comes from the moulded in kayak foot pegs. The Pulse 85 also has a good level of storage, this is in two main areas. The first of these is the rear tank well that' s great for a kayak dry bag. There is then a small kayak storage hatch that is located in the middle of the boat just between the paddlers knees. Directly in front of this there is then a recess and a bungee securing strap that is ideal for a drinks bottle. If the Pulse 85 is used as a sit on top for surfing, you may also wish to add a set of kayak thigh braces. These are easily mounted on the anchor points on each side of the kayak, this will help to give extra control and performance when on the wave.

If you like the sound of this and you are into kayak angling have a look at the Tootega Pulse 85 Huntsman

February Staff Newsletter

February was a busy month in the shop. As well as a number of reps coming to see us, and a number of visits to make, we also attended the Run, Walk, Crawl Brecon to Cardiff Ultra, and hosted a climbing shoe demo with Tenaya at local bouldering wall Spot Climbing. We still managed to get out, and members of Team Up and Under could be found in many parts of the UK; including in the Brecon Beacons, the Lakes, South Downs, Scotland, as well as further afield in Chamonix and George L still in Thailand.
