If you paddle…. We make it. Simple enough. Palm's range of equipment covers every facet of paddle sport there is, plus a few more avenues beside. Like many pioneering brands, Palm was spawned out of individual needs. In this case it was the need for dry gear that stayed together. Some 25 years later, the same principle is applied to the design and development of Palm equipment – the needs of you and I. In 1976 when founders Andy Knight and Bob Slee made their first items of paddling apparel there was no pigeon holing. The boat you paddled was the same one you repaired afterwards and used again when the resin set. A paddle top was just an anorak, and thermals were old jumpers. Nowadays it's a little different. We make gear for those who like to run the biggest white water in the world. Our test team includes those who paddle solo across expanses of ocean, and Palm buoyancy vests and cagoules are the first many young paddlers use when they join the sport. In short there are many unique ways in which you can enjoy paddle sports.

Recent Demo Evening Photos

Up and Under has a large selection of demo boats they are all available for trial at Up and Under Watersports at Cardiff Marine Village on the river that flows past the site. Alternatively you can try them at Cardiff International White Water Course. You can contact Up and Under Watersports on 02920 227663 or email: watersports@upandunder.co.uk to arrange a date for demoing your chosen boats. Demoing will be available most wednesdays and saturdays (and sundays April through to September inclusive).

Palm

The first item of new paddling gear from Palm for this white water season is the Palm Gradient Boot This is a top end water shoe that gives plenty of support and is ideal for those creeking trips where you have a long walk in. To compliment the Gradient boot on those major white water trips is the Palm Extrem PFD This is a high spec, front opening PFD that is suited very well for the toughest white water you can find. This is then complimented by an over the head version which is called the Palm AMP PFD

While extreme white water is does not suit everyone, many people enjoy more recreational elemenst of the sport such as surfing and more moderate white water! They have also covered this area too! They have a new over head style PFD that will covbers the range of children through toi adults and it comes in a selection of eye catching colours. This new PFD is called the Palm FX PFD

Dagger have been working very hard over the past few months to bring us an updated selection of boats for the 2010 season. A few of the highlights are mentioned below...

Dagger Juice Action

The Dagger Juice Action is a kayak thats suitable for beginner and intermediate paddlers. It offers great potential for a variety of aspects of paddling that include entry level white water and also kayak surfing. It is also ideal for possiblyhaving a go at your first bit of playboating. It is particularly well suited for paddlers who require a boat that is ideal for developing personal paddling skills. The Juice is available in two size's so that you can get a perfect fit. Due to its shorter length it offers good potential for eddy hopping, surfing and starting to learn to flat spin on a wave. The boat is fitted with a basic specification of fittings that include a bulkhead footrest, non adjustable thighbraces, a white water backrest and anodised grab handles and security bar.

Dagger Fiesta

The Dagger Fiesta is a boat that has already been round for a number of years. However due to the passion for being a "Green" company Dagger Europe have taken this to the limit and have now started to produce this boat in "recycled plastic" which is an industry first achievement.

Dagger G-Force

The Dagger G-Force is a boat that has been very popular with many playboaters for a while now, but 2010 will see it at a new lower price! The re-introduction of this model will see it being made in the U.K. where popular models such as the Dagger Juice and Redline and Infrared are already produced. The G-Force features Dagger Europe's action fittings which are the same as those used on their current mid range white water, river running and river play boats such as the Dagger GT Action and the Juice Action series.
