For getting down to the interesting bits! The Petzl Pirana Canyon lives here, because we recommend it for caving and canyoneering above all else. The braking spurs mean descent speed can be varied when you're already on the way. We also recommend the self-braking Petzl Stop for general descent use, or the Petzl Rack for long descents and when carrying heavy loads, as the speed of descent is adjustable there too. Both of those can be found in the Vertical Rope, Access and Rescue section. Other descenders, including the classic figure 8, can be found in the Climbing Descenders section.
