Outdoor Books and DVDs
Fairly obvious what you will find in each section here! We have kayaking, canoeing, walking, climbing, skiing, mountain biking, scrambling, via ferrata, trekking and mountaineering guidebooks, and general travel guidebooks from Lonely Planet. There is a section for canoeing and kayaking instructional books and a huge range of climbing, hill walking, expedition, trekking and alpine mountain instructional books to help you with everything from navigation to knots to assessing avalanche risk, including the MLTB textbooks for candidates in the Mountain Leader, Single Pitch Award and Mountain Instructor Award programs. In addition, we have instructional DVDs and CDs and a wide range of climbing, caving and kayaking films.
If you need more inspiration than watching James Pearson send an E12, we have a wide range of biographies and tales of derring-do and grand adventure in the Climbing Narrative section, and a variety of beautiful photographic and descriptive books on the Coffee Table Books page. Great gifts for climbers and outdoor types, or to help your significant other get interested in mountain sports.
Of course, we also stock a massive number of OS maps in laminated and plain paper, Landranger and Explorer formats. International maps, particularly of the Alps and Dolomites, are also kept in store. If we don't have the one you want, we can probably get it for you.
Colin Prior's posters are well known, and we have a range from Scotland as well as other beautiful places all around the world. Local photographer Mark Salter provides us with superb quality prints and greeting cards from South Wales, including the Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire, Gower, the Black Mountains and a whole host of hidden gems you might or might not recognise.
Our huge range of digital mapping and GPS software can all be found on the Orienteering and Navigation page.
