Outdoor Sacks-and-Bags Travel-Packs Luggage Scales Lifeventure
Luggage Scales

Compact luggage scales are one of those travel essentials. They can measure in both kilograms and pounds. Ideal for your journey home and checking your souveners haven't weighed you down.

Why choose a Travel Pack over a traditional rucksack or a suitcase?

If you are going on holiday, going to school, travelling to the office - everyone can benefit from carrying their possessions in a rucksack. Rucksacks keeps your hands free to pay for tickets, etc. and they mean that you never have to be parted from you precious luggage no matter what you are doing. However, for many of these purposes zip opening bags are far more clothing and document friendly than the usual drawcord openings. On top of this, you won't always want your gear to be on your back. Often its easier to use as hand luggage, and to have no straps dangling about when moving from train to train or boarding an aircraft. Consequently, these rucksacks that double as holdalls (or Travel Packs) are an ideal all-round holiday or extended business trip luggage item.

We have smaller bags like the Lowe Alpine TT Carry-On, laptop oriented Trek IT 27, or Life Venture A5 Flight Bag. These are great as hand luggage, or for use as modern day briefcases.

Many of the bigger packs from Karrimor and Lowe Alpine (see the popular Travel Trekker or TT series) have zip-on/zip-off day sacks, which can prove useful once you reach your destination and want a day away from the rest of your kit, but they can be a security risk if not locked on to the pack and locked closed. Karrimor and Lowe Alpine also provide us with women's fit travel packs.

It is worth bearing in mind that these packs are loaded with many more features than standard rucksacks and therefore are often heavier and more expensive! Lots more packs that can be used for travelling are listed in the Backpacking Rucksacks section. Simple duffel bags for lugging around large lumps of expedition kit can be found in the Holdalls section.
