Edelrid
Ohm
The Edelrid Ohm was developed in collaboration with the Institute of Mechanical Handling and Logistics in Germany. With several updates, this second generation of the innovative and successful Ohm is now more user-friendly than ever. Designed to enhance the braking effect when climbing in teams with significant weight differences, the assisted-braking resistor features a swivel joint that improves freedom of movement. Consequently, the direction in which the device is clipped to the first bolt is no longer important.
Petzl
Verso
The Petzl Verso is a lightweight and compact belay device that can be used with one or two rope strands and also for rappelling. The Verso is the lightest belay device in Petzl's range and is easy to use. Its design allows the rope to glide smoothly through the device, reduces wear and is compatible with most rope diameters.
Edelrid
Giga Jul
The Edelrid Giga Jul is a a versatile belay device that is a both a standard and assisted braking tuber in one. The assisted braking function which supports the braking force can be activated or disabled by an intelligent built-in mechanism. Great for situation-dependent belaying and abseiling, especially in alpine terrain.
Petzl
Grigri
The Petzl Grigri is n single rope belay device with an assisted braking system. The internal cam pinches the rope as it is weighted, pivoting the device. Along with good belaying technique, the assisted braking helps hold a climber and catch them in a fall. The progressive action of the cam allows gradual control when lowering a climber.
Beal
Birdie
The Beal Birdie is a compact belay device with assisted braking for lead and top roping. It is also ergonomic for a better grip and can be used with all dynamic single ropes, with a diameter of 8.5 to 10.5mm. Each of these belayers has its own individual number that guarantees its traceability. Entirely made of metal, with cam and friction components in stainless steel for great durability. The rope exits following the device’s axis, to avoid twisting.
Black Diamond
ATC-XP
The Black Diamond ATC-XP is versatile and durable belay device with multiple friction modes. It has added grooves for use with thinner ropes that offers increased safety as they provide more friction and therefore more holding force when putting the rope in a brake position to hold a fall or when abseiling. The ATC XP also has a regular friction mode that is suitable for use with thicker ropes. The ATC-XP is now 30% lighter than the original design, thanks to its updated construction and machined windows through the body.
Black Diamond
ATC-Guide
The Black Diamond ATC-Guide is one of Black Diamond's award winning belay devices. The ATC-Guide has two friction modes and an auto-blocking guide mode that lets you belay a seconding climber off the anchor. The V grooves allow for the use of thinner ropes with increased safety.
DMM
Pivot
The DMM Pivot belay device delivers confident belaying and effective stopping power whether used in guide mode, or belaying from the waist. Guide plates have traditionally been difficult to operate when lowering seconds. The Pivot's shackle reduces the force needed to initiate lowering, increasing control of the speed at which you lower your second.
