Reactor 1.7L Stove System

The MSR Reactor 1.7L Stove System is a gas stove system which performs quickly and efficiently in cold and windy conditions. This big pan size is ideal for boiling water quickly for 2-3 persons and is an excellent snow melter.

With no wind blowing or in mild temperatures (boiling times are often measured at 20C) the advantages of the Reactor Radiant Burner might not seem obvious compared with its competitors. When even a 8mph breeze is blowing the boiling times of many stoves, unless extremely well shielded, can almost double meaning that a significant amount of extra fuel is used. In comparison the Reactor 1.7L boil time for 0.5 litre goes from 1min 30 seconds to 1 min 45 seconds and the gas used from 5g to 6g. In real harsh weather conditions, away from the warm indoors, the Reactor 1.7L stove system allows you to get more water boiled from your 230g canister
