How Nikwax TX.Direct® Works:
Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In has been designed to penetrate every fibre of your waterproof garments, including seams, tapes and cords. It forms a flexible water-repellent layer that prevents water absorption while still allowing moisture vapour to pass through, maintaining breathability and comfort. This easy wash-in application ensures thorough coverage, while eliminating the need for tumble drying - saving energy and extending the life of your gear.
Application Instructions:
Machine Wash:
Shake the bottle before use.
Wash your garment first with Nikwax® Tech Wash® (separate cycle, no detergent).
Add 100ml of TX.Direct® per garment to the washing machine.
Run a 30°C synthetic cycle with a slow spin.
Air dry or tumble dry on low if care label allows.
Hand Wash:
Wear gloves for protection
Add 100ml of TX.Direct® to 7.5L of hand-hot water in a bowl or sink
Soak one clean garment for 5 minutes, then agitate to mix thoroughly
Rinse with cold water until clear
Air dry or tumble dry on low if care label allows.
Important Notes:
Always clean gear with Nikwax Tech Wash® before waterproofing to remove detergent residues.
Avoid conventional detergents, as they can compromise the waterproofing effect.
