The Peak PS River Guide (men's) PFD is a strong competitor for the best whitewater PFD out there and it's packed full of unique features. The River Guide benefits from having a range of storage options, including a huge front pocket and various other specific easy-access pockets for all your kayaking essentials. The cut of this PFD is the same as the cut used in the Slalom Kayak PFDs worn by Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics.

The Peak PS River Guide PFD features a top performance cut, this allows it to be put on easily and thus easily removed. Once on the paddlers torso, there are three stages of adjustment. Firstly there is a set of waist straps, then there's a second set of hidden side compression straps that help hug the torso for a firm and secure fit. Then the final adjustment comes from the shoulder straps, the River Guide uses single strap shoulder straps, this means that each strap is integrated into the waistband and uses one continuous webbing strap, this means if the buckles fail while it's hauled on, the buoyancy aid can still be lifted.  The comfort is then enhanced due to the padded covers on the shoulder straps.

The River Guide is packed with lots of great features. Firstly it has four pockets, the main pocket is vast and features an anchor point for securing things. The second pocket is located behind the main pocket and has symmetrical access points which run down either side of the main pocket. This pocket can be accessed from each side. The third pocket is located on the very front and is easy to access quickly. The last and final pocket is just above the waist and is designed for a river rescue knife. As this is a PFD for whitewater kayaking, it also features an adjustable chest harness that can be changed to suit both right handed and left handed paddlers. This PFD also incorporates split D-rings for attaching a cows-tail if required.
