The Streamlyte Kidzstix Foundation is a great first time kayak paddle for the smaller junior paddlers. This child’s paddle features a fibreglass paddle shaft which is partnered with a pair of short fibre reinforced polypropylene paddle blades that are asymmetric in shape. With junior paddlers in mind, both the glass paddle shaft and the paddle blades have been reduced in size. The paddle shaft is narrower than a regular shaft and the paddle blades are also reduced in surface area.

The Streamlyte Kidzstix Foundation is a junior kayak paddle that is equally suited to both whitewater and flat water kayaking. If you have a junior paddler who is after their first kayak paddle, this is the one to look at.

Streamlyte Paddles are designed, manufactured and assembled here in the UK!

Streamlyte have designed this junior kayak paddle so that's safe and suitable for smaller paddlers to use. With this in mind, they have used a narrow diameter fibreglass paddle shaft. This helps to prevent overgripping and reduces potential damage to the hands and arms. They have then paired the shaft with a pair of asymmetric paddle blades. Once again these feature a reduced surface area. This helps to ensure that when the children are paddling, they are not overworking their developing muscles and causing long term damage. They also wanted to design a paddle that offered the same performance in terms of quality and durability as many adults use. With this in mind, they used a fibreglass paddle shaft which is light and comfortable to use. It feels warmer in the winter months compared to cheaper kayak paddles with an alloy shaft. The paddle blades have then been manufactured from a Short Fibre Polypropylene. This ensures that the kayak paddle will withstand the day to day bumping on rocks and river beds.
