The Silverbirch Canoes Broadland 15 Duralite is a truly versatile open canoe that performs well on any type of water. Silverbirch Canoes don't really have a standard specification for their range of open canoes. They believe that every customer is different and has a slightly different requirement! The general outfitting of a Broadland 15 Duralite would comprise of two wood web canoe seats, a flat central carrying yoke, front and rear ash carrying handles and then gunwales that are either vinyl or ash.
The Broadland 15 Duralite features the premier construction in the Silverbirch Canoe range. The alternative option to Duralite is Duracore. Silverbirch Duralite construction is a 3 layer plastic that is blended from the highest grade of high density polyethylene, this is featured on the outer later and also the inner layer. These two layers then sandwich a low density foam core, this foam core has been optimized by Silverbirch to get the best possible results. When all of this is combined together it provides a stiffer, lighter and more durable open canoe. The end results, especially when finished with an ash trim come very close in weight to composite models from alternative brands.
The outer layer of the Duralite construction is available in several main colour ways, check out the options above on the drop down menu. The standard inner layer is then an off white which is finished with a colour "fleck" which matches the colour on the outside of the shell.
