Welcome to the watersports section of our website. Up and Under has been supplying watersports equipment since the business opened in 1977. We have a massive amount of knowledge and experience. We are also the largest Canoe and Kayak Store in South Wales and are only 10 minutes drive from, The Cardiff International White Water Centre. (CIWW) If you want to get wet, we will help you get on the water!

Stand Up Paddle Boarding - A fantastic watersport which is all about exploring the local waterways available. Whether you want to SUP on a lake or go paddle boarding on a canal. The Silverbirch Canoes Broadland 15 Duracore Plus is a tough and durable 15ft open Canadian canoe that comes fitted with vinyl gunwales, seating for 2 paddlers and a standard carrying yoke. There are also front and rear ash carry handles, which make it easy to take your boat to and from the waters edge. The Broadland 15 is perfect for flat water use and transitioning onto moving water.

Fitted Rope End Grabs
The Silverbirch Canoes Fitted Rope End Grabs are part of their Custom Built Canoe program. They're an optional extra that can be added to canoe models such as their Broadland 15, Broadland 16 and Firefly 14. They provide the option for rescuing another open canoe, in the event you should need them. They feature a small rope loops that are fitted to each end of the canoe through specially drilled holes. The end grabs are then well secured by a double fisherman's knot.

Fitted Full Length Lacing
The Silverbirch Canoes Fitted Full Length Lacing is a factory fitted upgrade on any canoe in their range. Silverbirch offer the full length lacing system so that it starts at one end of the canoe, and then equally spaced down the full length of the boat and returned down the other side to terminate opposite where it started. The outside loops are all flat in profile to the outside of the boat. However the inside loops are shaped with clear piping to make highly versatile D rings. This is perfect for assisting with lacing canoe airbags.

Standard Thwart
The Silverbirch Canoes Standard Thwart comes available in two size options. The 39" is the standard size for most boats, whilst the 31" is suitable for narrower boats such as the Firefly 14. The Thwart features an ash construction and is supplied uncut and undrilled, this makes it highly versatile as you can the cut it down and drill where needed to suit the make and model of your boat. When cutting them down it's worth remembering to cut equal amounts off each end to make sure it sits correctly in your chosen canoe!

The Streamlyte Freeway Premier is a high end kayaking paddle that is particularly well suited towards whitewater. Whether you're creeking, river running or taking part in freestyle, this is a great option. Streamlyte paddles are fully manufactured and assembled here in the UK. The Streamlyte Freeway Premier kayak paddles features a fibreglass paddle shaft. This is then fitted with a pair of asymmetric blades which are made from a blend of glass and diolen to give the best levels of stiffness and durability.

Shrink Wrap
The Streamlyte Shrink Wrap comes supplied in a 1m length. This kayak paddle heat shrink is easy to use and fits the majority of kayak paddle shafts. It simply slides over the paddle shaft and when you then apply some heat it will contract to offer a nice grip. Please note that on single piece kayak paddles and canoe paddles you may need to remove the blade or a t handle to fit it!
